Managing Shareholder

Belynda Hinsch is a seasoned professional in the field of public accounting and Managing Shareholder of Swanson Hinsch & Co. Chartered. With a career spanning over two decades, Belynda entered the realm of public accounting in 1996 and swiftly rose through the ranks, achieving shareholder status in 2005. In 2018, she became the sole owner of the firm, a testament to her dedication and leadership in the industry.

Belynda specializes in providing comprehensive financial services to both individuals and businesses. Her expertise encompasses tax preparation, tax planning, business succession planning, consulting, accounting, and business management. Armed with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from Rasmussen College, additional coursework from Minnesota State University-Mankato, and ongoing continuing education classes high above standard requirements, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her clients. Within her firm, Belynda is a supportive and nurturing leader who recognizes the importance of investing in her team's development and growth. She inspires loyalty, motivation, and a shared commitment to achieving common goals. By providing opportunities and education, she not only demonstrates a commitment to their individual success but also contributes to the overall success of the team and organization.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Belynda has always been deeply involved in community service. While a board member and treasurer for Feeding Our Community Partners, a board member and chair of the Finance Committee for the Mankato YMCA, and board member/treasurer of MN River Builders Association, she showcased her commitment to making a positive impact on local communities, contributing her time and expertise to various causes and demonstrated her financial acumen and leadership skills. Belynda's commitment to community service extends further, as a past board member of the Mankato Area March of Dimes and Mankato Business and Professional Women.

In the realm of professional activities, Belynda is a proud member of esteemed organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of CPAs. She has shared her knowledge as a guest speaker for graduating classes at Rasmussen College, and with the business community by speaking at the Greater Mankato Area Chamber of Commerce on tax savings and conducting in-house classes.

Her dedication and outstanding contributions have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by the numerous awards she has received. Belynda was honored with the "Associate Member of the Year” and “Rising Star” awards from the Minnesota River Builders Association for her distinguished service, recognizing her leadership abilities, enthusiasm, and commitment. The March of Dimes acknowledged her contributions with the "Southwest Division Outstanding Board Member" award.

Outside of her professional commitments, Belynda finds joy in her family life. She has been married to Heath for over 27 years and is a proud mother to son Dalton and daughter Peyton. Her personal interests include golfing, reading, and volunteering. Belynda values quality time with family and friends, emphasizing a balanced complete approach to a fulfilling life.

Firm Administrator

Since joining Swanson Hinsch & Co. in 2005 as Office Manager and now as Firm Administrator, Melinda Busse has kept our team organized and our office running smoothly. As our front office point person, Melinda helps clients every day on a variety of tasks including: answering bookkeeping questions, preparing payroll, filing payroll deposits and reports, preparing sales tax returns, etc. She also processes, electronically files and tracks all of our individual client tax returns.

In addition to providing our clients and staff with first class, smiling service, Melinda is an active member of the Association for Accounting Administrators, former member of Rasmussen College Office Management Board, and is a commissioned notary public. She has worked in office administration in the Mankato area for more than 20 years.

Melinda and her husband Shawn are the proud parents of son, Benjamin and daughter, Emily. They live in Rapidan and enjoy spending time at the lake and with family and friends.
